Kids Can of Southwest Louisiana is our community's commitment to coordinate and develop efficient resources and partnerships in order to provide for the total well being of all children and families in Southwest Louisiana. Through partnerships, our vision, is all children and familes reaching their full potential.
Where we are…The “Problem"
According to Kids Count, Louisiana still ranks 49th in the well-being of children. As a community, Southwest Louisiana does not realize the status of children in our own area. Meetings with the leadership of the community, business leaders and service providers have proven that we are not aware of the problems we have with raising children in our own area.
We want to connect business and industry with community leadership to educate them on the status of kids and begin to solve the problem through education and involvement in decision making as it relates to children.
Where we want to go….The “Solution"
Clearly, we want the rankings to improve. We want to assure that kids in Southwest Louisiana know there is a caring community that they can turn to for help. The motto for Kids Can is "Kids Can Count on Us."
When every area of the community is involved in and aware of children’s issues we can begin to improve the status.
